Description: This is a 33-card scavenger hunt that can be used to teach students interesting facts about Christmas in the United States as well as a in a few countries around the world. In this hunt, students will learn what the largest Christmas present in the world was, where the poinsettia originated from, what Halloween decorations are found on Polish Christmas trees, and more. To complete the hunt, students are presented with 16 multiple-choice questions. Then they read the information that will help them answer the questions. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If their answer is incorrect, they can reread the text to find the correct answer. The final card in the hunt requires students to write 3 interesting things they learned in the hunt. It can be used as a Christmas lesson, an activity to keep students engaged before the holidays, to enhance the understanding of a story, or practice for reading informational text.
