Description
Word Family /e/. Students can work independently looking at pictures and sounding out letters. Adults can work with students to help with letter sounds. We have utilized real life pictures that students will recognize which will facilitate language. For example, when practicing the word, your students can look at the picture, name the picture and describe what is happening in the picture in relation to the word. The cards/pictures provide an opportunity to ask and answer questions (ex. “what is this?” “where would you find it?” “what is it used for?”) and discuss “same/different” (do the words sound the same or different?). If the word is an action word, students can act out the action giving them an opportunity for movement! We have created WORD FAMILIES with /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/.
