Description: This is a 41-card Edgar Allan Poe Scavenger Hunt that covers the life and writings of the famous (yet mysterious) author. During this activity students will learn about the many tragic events that occurred during Poe's life, his family, writings and accomplishments, as well as the mysterious situation surrounding his death. To complete the hunt, students are presented with a question with some possible answers. Then they read a short passage where the information can be found. They receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned about Edgar Allan Poe. It would would be a great activity for any study of Poe or his writings. It can be used as literature lesson or center as well as an easy lesson for a sub.
