Decodables are a great way to build student confidence in reading. This decodable story focuses on the FLOSS Rule review words that and some sight words. The first slide contains FLOSS rule words and sight words that appear in the text. Words are considered sight words if the phonics skill has not yet been taught, or if the word does not follow a set phonics skill. FLOSS Rule- f, l, s, and z double at the end of a closed syllable word with a short vowel. This decodable story comes after my short vowel stories and digraphs. This can be read individually, with a partner, or, with a teacher.
