Description: This interactive no-prep activity is an engaging way to help your students build a variety of receptive and expressive language skills with carnival nouns and animated ACTION VERBS (GIFS). Students are able to build a carnival by following 1-step directions to put specific back to carnival items into the carnival scene. After, there will be an action verb behind each item. On the next slide, students are able to answer WH questions (e.g. what is the girl/boy doing?), label verbs & increase MLU to form 2-word phrases. This activity includes: - A variety of carnival nouns - A variety of action verbs (e.g. singing, cooking, sleeping, kicking, swinging, eating, swimming, painting, hiding, bouncing, standing up, throwing, playing, coloring, climbing stairs, climbing ladder, drinking, running, jumping rope, dancing, jumping & walking) - Visual Sentence Strips to help students expand their utterances The following IEP goals can be targeted during the activity: - Following 1-step directions - Answering WH questions - Expanding Utterances & Increasing MLU - Labeling Verbs - Identifying common nouns
