Description: This set of Simplifying Algebraic Expressions Boomâ„¢ Cards is a fun and creative way to boost student engagement while simplifying polynomial expressions! Students will use their knowledge of exponent laws, the distributive property, and combining like terms to simplify polynomial expressions. They will need to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using exponent rules and the distributive property. They should have prior knowledge of the degree of a polynomial, and know how to express a polynomial in descending order (listing terms from the largest degree to smallest). In this engaging mystery picture reveal, students will simplify each polynomial expression, and then drag individual parts of each expression into the boxes at the bottom of each card (in descending order). If correct, they can click on 'next card' and a part of the mystery image will be revealed! Problems progress in difficulty, and once all 18 problems have been completed, the full image will be revealed! Please note that students can use some scrap paper or their notebook to help them simplify each expression before dragging the simplified terms into the appropriate boxes.
