Description: This interactive no-prep activity is an engaging way to help your students build a variety of receptive and expressive language skills with thanksgiving food and animated EVERYDAY VERBS (GIFS). Students are able to set the table for the thanksgiving dinner feast by following 1-step directions to put specific food items on the thanksgiving table. After, there will be an action verb behind each item. On the next slide, students are able to answer WH questions (e.g. what is the girl/boy doing?), label verbs and increase MLU to form 4-word sentence structures. This activity includes: A Variety of Everyday Verbs - Waking up, working, reading, eating, waiting for bus, brushing hair, washing face, getting dressed, brushing teeth, showering, sleeping, drinking & dancing - A variety of thanksgiving food items (e.g. pie, bread, turkey, cornucopia, apple, jam, corn, yam, vegetables, mashed potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans) The following IEP goals can be targeted during the activity: - Expanding Utterances & Increasing MLU - Following 1-step directions - Answering WH questions - Labeling Verbs - Identifying common nouns
