Description: The "Build a Story" series provides structure, plot ideas, graphic organizers, and visual story pieces to support students in producing their own narratives in both verbal and written form while using fun, engaging themes! This Carnival version features a fabulous carnival fair complete with rides, games, and food! Plot ideas included for antics that could occur when two children are visiting. Since students will be creating the words/text for their own stories, this resource is completely open-ended in terms of working on goal targets or even multiple goal types in mixed groups.  You can elicit particular grammatical structures, sentence types, vocabulary words, etc. by modeling how to include them in the student's story. You can also work on other areas such as articulation and fluency by incorporating target words/strategies into the story. Target narrative structure itself with explicit instructions & visuals on how to build a story. Best of all, narrative production provides a meaningful, functional context for working on goal targets that translates readily into carryover in the classroom! The deck includes these activities: 1.) Story Planning 2.) Create Your Story 3.) Oral Retell with Story Pieces 4.) Final Story Product-- Write it Out 5.) Peer Questions Educator Resources available for free! Lesson Plans and Supplementary Materials file (Google Slides-tm) so you can save your work! Download FREE here:
