Description: Executive Functioning skills are crucial for academic success. They underpin all of language and all of learning. Teaching your students about Executive Functioning will help them be more able to identify, understand, and self-monitor their behavior. (Highly recommend using my product Executive Functioning: An Intro for Students first!) This product is a set of 12 task cards, plus an additional card reviewing 7 Executive Functioning skills. Each task card contains a situation where an individual is struggling in some way. Students are given 4 EF skills and asked to identify which skill(s) they are having trouble with. Project these on the board for whole-class discussion, or assign individually for independent work (or print, laminate, and use white board markers!). These scenarios are relatable for many students and lend themselves to making connections (e.g., "The character in the situation had trouble with Emotional Regulation when they were mad - has that ever happened to you?" or "It was hard for them to get started in class - can you relate?").
