Description: Describe and build vocabulary while learning about the heroes in our own backyard! This is a simple introduction to the 5 branches of the military - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. Each page contains a veteran in uniform, along with vehicles, clothing, and other items specific to their job. Pictures may be described by talking about the category, function, and attributes. Compare and contrast the different uniforms and vehicles or ask open-ended questions ("What is the pilot's job?"). Find all the vehicles, clothing, things made of metal, etc. - All pictures may be clicked on for visual reinforcement. Pair with your favorite Veteran's Day book or activity.
