Inferential Skills - Guess What I Am Describing! provides practice in vocabulary building, referential communication, and logical thinking skills. Students listen to or read three clues which describe the name of an animal, formulate a hypothesis and make an inference. Once they write in their guess they move to the next card to see if they have guessed correctly and read or listen to an additional interesting fact about the animal. The card activities are designed to improve the formation of strong semantic networks by improving lexical knowledge and linguistic flexibility. By improving the perception of word relationships, automatic associations are more easily activated and accessed from memory.
