Description: Are you looking for a way to bring in a little Halloween fun to your ELA-R classroom AND help students review figurative language? Then this is the resource for you! WHAT’S INCLUDED? πŸŽƒ The first ten cards give definitions of the different types of literary devices featured in the deck and ask students to choose the correct term. πŸŽƒ The remaining 20 cards have students read a short Halloween-related sentence featuring a figure of speech. Students need to choose the type of language being used from a field of four. The ten types of figurative language used in this deck: *Alliteration *Onomatopoeia *Simile *Metaphor *Personification *Idiom *Hyperbole *Pun *Allusion *Oxymoron ***Please note: Some of the sentences may possibly be two different types--for example, a simile and an idiom. In this case, I tried to make sure only one of those was a possible choice. However, it is a great discussion to have with students who notice! πŸŽƒ I also have another Halloween deck with different sentences. That set does NOT include puns, allusions, or oxymorons. πŸŽƒ https://wow.boomlearning.com/deck/halloween-figurative-language-BZ28SYaCZ3uLdyyfs πŸŽƒπŸŽƒ This deck is part of my money-saving HALLOWEEN FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE BUNDLE. πŸŽƒπŸŽƒ If you and your students enjoy using this resource, please check out the other figurative language decks I have available in my BOOM store!
