Description: Are you looking for a way to bring in a little Halloween fun to your ELA-R classroom AND help students review figurative language? Then this is the resource for you! WHAT’S INCLUDED? 🎃 The first ten cards give definitions of the different types of literary devices featured in the deck and ask students to choose the correct term. 🎃 The remaining 20 cards have students read a short Halloween-related sentence featuring a figure of speech. Students need to choose the type of language being used from a field of four. The ten types of figurative language used in this deck: *Alliteration *Onomatopoeia *Simile *Metaphor *Personification *Idiom *Hyperbole *Pun *Allusion *Oxymoron ***Please note: Some of the sentences may possibly be two different types--for example, a simile and an idiom. In this case, I tried to make sure only one of those was a possible choice.
