This pizza party-themed activity has two pages of introduction for the students, and scenes to accommodate 2 through 8 students in a group. The students can type their names into their place cards at their plate, and will receive slices of pizza, soda, and cupcakes as reinforcers for participating in the parts of a conversation. At the end of each "party", the students are also shown a slide that encourages "goodbye"s. This is a fun activity to help carry over the conversational skills they are learning. This is a flexible, open-ended activity to help motivate your students to initiate and continue a conversation, as well as to close the conversation appropriately. It is an engaging and light-hearted reward system to keep the group engaged. You can use these suggested conversation starters, but ideally, we want our students to think of those themselves. Some ideas are: “I’m looking forward to the weekend. What are you doing this weekend?” “It’s almost lunch time. What are you going to get for lunch today?” “My parents and I are going to adopt a new puppy. I’m so excited.” “Did you study for the test today? I hope it’s not hard.” “Next week is my birthday. Do you want to come to my house for cake?” “I played a new video game last night. It was so fun.” When the conversation is coming to a close, tap the “bye” button, to go to the final slide. Students should practice their parting comments here. I hope you enjoy the activity! Please see my Store in Boom and TPT.
