Get to Know Me Facts and Favorites-This is a shared whole group picture reveal activity to help learners see commonalities shared with other students. This allows for further development of their sense of a classroom community. Additionally, reinforces listening and hand raising skills so students can better participate in class discussions. Develops language acquisition skills for English as a Second Language- ESL learners. How to use: Students display active listening as the sentence on the card is read aloud. Students think about whether the question applies to them. If so, they raise their hands for the rest of the class to see. The teacher clicks the arrow to move forward to the next question/card. The picture will be revealed as the class progresses through the questions on each card. The last card prompts students to reflect and share what they learned about their classmates. Tip: *A review of acceptable hand raising and voice levels before beginning the activity may be helpful.
