CCSS K.G.A.2, 1.G.A.1 Students find shapes: circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles. There are 25 cards. Each card contains a fun monster and a circle, a triangle, a square, and a rectangle. Students are asked to find a particular shape. 15 of the cards have different colored shapes. 6 of the cards have shapes in one color. 4 of the cards have "real" objects. K.G.A.2 Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size. 1.G.A.1 Distinguish between defining attributes (e.g., triangles are closed and three-sided) versus non-defining attributes (e.g., color, orientation, overall size); build and draw shapes to possess defining attributes.
