Students must answer wh- questions regarding details mentioned in the story. (2) Inferencing. 5 items. Students must answer wh- questions regarding details that can be inferred from the text. (3) Predicting Outcomes. 5 items. Students must answer questions determining possible outcomes based on events in the story. (4) Sequencing Events. 5 events in text. Students must sequence events by typing numbers 1-5 in boxes beside written events that took place in the story. (5) Synonyms and Antonyms. 5 items. Students must identify synonyms and antonyms of words presented in the story. (6) Context Clues. 5 items. Students must infer the meaning of underlined words based on how they were used in the story. (7) Fact or Opinion. 5 items. Students must determine if a given sentence is a fact or an opinion based on what they read in the story. (8) Cause and Effect. 5 items. Given a pair of statements from the story, students must identify which is the cause and which is the effect. NOTE: This deck does not include story illustrations.
