PURPOSE: To use AAC vocabulary words from different categories to progressively build a full 5–7 word sentence to describe a picture. Students using AAC symbols for communication need to learn to create whole sentences rather than using individual words. In this activity, different AAC categories are provided on each page to help the student locate a word to describe the picture. Categories include “groups”, “describe”, “actions”, and “places”. On the final picture, students should be able to compose a complete sentence using all four categories to describe the picture.
