Description: This is a freebie sample! The full activity is located in my boom store! This interactive no-prep activity is an engaging way to help your students build a variety of receptive and expressive language skills using vocabulary from the book The Napping House. Students are given the visual "open" and asked to "open" each napping house. Inside each napping house, there is a character either sleeping or jumping from the book the Napping. This activity helps students following 1-step directions with the core word OPEN, label nouns, label verbs, answer WH questions and increase MLU with the core word FOUND! This is great for speech therapy, teletherapy, or even in person therapy! This activity includes: - Visual sentence strips to increase MLU - Different characters from the book the Napping House (e.g. granny, child, dog, cat, mouse and flea) - Multiple repetitions to practice the core words OPEN & FOUND The following IEP goals can be targeted during the activity: - Labeling vocabulary - Core Words OPEN & FOUND - Pragmatics (e.g. requesting) - Following 1-step directions - Using subjective pronouns he, she & it - WH Questions (e.g. ask students what color, what is ___ doing, etc.) - Describing (e.g. colors, attributes, actions, etc.)
