Engage your students in speech therapy in prekindergarten to second grade this winter with snowy fun that targets vocabulary, spatial prepositions, and describing as students play “Find the Snowmen”. Students describe where the snowmen are in Winter picture scenes, using full sentences and spatial concepts. Other students listen and guess which snowman the speaker described. Includes a Snowman Cueing chart with word banks and question prompts for scaffolding to support student descriptions. HOW TO USE: -Partner game: one student describes where the snowman is, another finds it -Mixed groups: assign “speaker” and “listener” roles to manage different goals -Following directions twist: add direction prompts (e.g. “Put a snowflake on the snowman sitting down.”) -Articulation carryover using target vocabulary and connected speech -Writing practice by having students describe a scene TARGET SKILLS: -Spatial prepositions (in, on, under, above, between, next to, behind, left/right, near/far, etc.) -Descriptive language -Sentence building -Listening comprehension -Turn-taking -Seasonal vocabulary (Winter) This resource is part of the Describe and Find Spatial Prepositions Games line of products in my TPT store.
