Description
These cards are a collection of problem solving opportunities for social emotional learning. There are 20 cards with 10 potential problem scenarios. The situation is described as to what the problem is and the student can manipulate the card (drag the objects) to help solve the problem. The cards are designed for the teacher to be a significant partner in the exercise to help facilitate conversation, problem solving strategies, role playing, and help identify possible words and/or phrases to help solve the problem (e.g., "I feel.." "I need..." "Can I have a turn?" etc). There are masks available on each scene for the characters so the teacher can decide whether to include them in the problem solving scenarios. Most scenarios can be discussed as to whether it happens at school as well as at home. The scenes are a fun, non-threatening way to develop conflict resolution skills. I would love to hear the solutions the kids discuss. Example problems: Free play sharing and turn taking, feeling scared or no one to play with during recess play, getting started at reading time, lining up, lunch, and going home.
