Auditory memory, working memory, logic, and reasoning are targeted in this fun speech-language activity. Students can listen to the clues to place the race cars in the correct positions, or the written clues can be revealed. Great for your middle school and high school students who need to practice listening strategies and working memory skills. Engine sounds and car horn sounds make each of the twenty races fun. This was created for older students who need this practice, but don't want to use "little kid" materials. EXAMPLE SLIDE: 1) The orange and yellow cars are tied for first place. 2) The green car just passed the purple car, which is last. 3) The red car is on the right side of the track, just behind the orange car. IF STUDENTS GET IT WRONG.... They get a slide saying, "Not quite right, but stay in the race" and "Get back on track!" with a car beep. You have the option to use the AUDIO clues or WRITTEN clues, or BOTH. You might also like these Boom Decks: "Working Memory Let's Make Lunch", "Working Memory, Build a Robot".
