What's included and how to use this deck... The Leaf Thief by Alice Hemming is a favorite for many children. Help your student access the content and engage with the story using this deck. On the first card after directions, you'll find an aided language board. Have this card pulled up as you read the book with your student to teach and reinforce vocabulary and support the student's comments and questions. The next 21 cards will target several skills...vocabulary for places around town, color recognition and matching (yellow, red, orange), counting items 1-10, and comprehension and use of the core vocabulary words "find" and "more." Squirrel is sad that the wind has blown away his leaves. Your student will travel across the city collecting the lost leaves. As your student proceeds throughout the town finding and counting the lost leaves, they will be added to squirrel's empty tree.
