Description

Identifying different types of figurative language takes lots of consistent practice! This deck of 30 digital task cards with a festive St. Patrick’s Day theme helps students review SIX kinds of figurative language. Each card includes a quick sentence that asks students to determine which figure of speech is being used. THE TASK: Students are asked to read a sentence, determine the type of figurative language used, and then click on the correct answer. This is great practice for recognizing examples of: *Alliteration *Simile *Metaphor *Onomatopoeia *Personification *Hyperbole What’s Included? The first six cards ask students to review the definitions of the different types of figurative language featured in the deck. The remaining 24 cards have students read a short St. Patrick’s Day-related sentence featuring a figure of speech. Students need to choose the type of language being used from a field of four.
