Description

Build diminished and augmented chords/triads on the piano, starting on white keys only. Read or listen to the question, then count by half-steps to build each chord with the correct intervals. Drag markers onto the piano keys to form the answer. For best learning, this deck may be worked on at the piano, with the student playing each answer on the keyboard to check the augmented/diminished sound before clicking the green "Submit" button.. Half of the questions show the root of the chord on the keys, and the student chooses the remaining keys to complete the chord. The remaining questions name the root of the chord and the student must choose all three keys. Two teaching cards and two guided examples appear at the beginning of every round, after which 10 randomized cards give a new challenge every time. Audio and written instructions are given for each card. Alt-text is provided for images and sound. This deck is ideal for students who are learning how to build chords at the piano. It specifically targets new chords introduced in RCM Level 7, but is appropriate for motivated beginners, and students learning jazz or lead sheets at any level. Great for online or in-person piano lessons, theory classes, music classes, music lab, take-home activities, homeschooling, device-based learning.
