Description: Looking for a fun way to practice spelling heart words or red words? This deck has you covered! These tricky words can be hard for students to master. This deck includes FIVE different multi sensory activities to help students learn high-frequency words. These activities would be a great addition to your Orton Gillingham or other structured literacy approach, as they are all consistent with the science of reading and facilitate the process of orthographic mapping. What's Included: This deck includes 14 words drawn from the Fry Sight Word & Orton-Gillingham Red Word Lists: mother, father, whose, word, work, write, water, wear, been, very, because, only, they, more (See my store for the Bundle of Lists 1-4!) Only 14 are presented because kids practice them 5 different ways: 1) COPY: See a picture, hear & see the word, then type it 3 times. 2) BUILD: Drag letters into boxes to spell the word. The "red" part that must be memorized goes in the heart. 3) UNSCRAMBLE: Drag individuals letters (not graphemes) into boxes without the red part identified. 4) SPELL: See the picture, hear the word & type it in the box. 5) USE IT IN A SENTENCE: Kids see a picture, hear the word and must write a sentence of their own that uses the word. PLEASE NOTE: This section requires teacher grading. If you prefer, you can either have students skip these cards or you can hide them. Please note that you can't hide cards if you are using Fast Pin.
