Description

This is a 29-card scavenger hunt that can be used to teach students about the Nine Black high school students who were integrated into an all-white school during the Civil Rights Movement that took place in America during the 1950s and 1960s. In this hunt students will learn who the Little Rock Nine were, what it took to get them into school, what school was like for them as they attended an all-white school, what they did with their lives after they graduated high school, and more. To complete the hunt, students read a multiple-choice question. Then they read a passage to find the answer to the question. Students receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt. It can be used as a supplement to a study of Black History or civil rights, U. S. history, to enhance the understanding of a story, or practice for reading informational text.
