Description

Learning to add 10ths and 100ths is an important skill to help students better understand the connection between fractions and decimals. This product is a perfect way to help your students visualize and move between making picture models, fractions, and decimals in varied ways. This product is stuffed with all of the tools that I use with my students to teach this skill including Kahoot game links and instructional note taking pages. If you are viewing this product, then you probably already know of the usefulness and versatility of boom cards. They work great for math centers, partner activities, formative assessment, and general review. Kids love them because they can get immediate feedback and teachers love the fact that they are self checking. 5.NBT.B.7 Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used. 5.NBT.NF.A.1 Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions in such a way as to produce an equivalent sum or difference of fractions with like denominators. For example, 2/3 + 5/4 = 8/12 + 15/12 = 23/12. (In general, 𝘢/𝘣 + 𝘤/𝘥 = (𝘢𝘥 + 𝘣𝘤)/𝘣𝘥.)
