Grades: 1,2,3

Description: The deck begins with an explanation of the different problem sizes. Each size is defined and two examples of each are provided. After the lesson, the learner is presented with a pciture and a simple explanation of the problem. The learner selects the SIZE of the problem by choosing from the list provided (oops, small, big, emergency, or growing problem). If the adult chooses to discuss the solutions to the problems with the learner, this can be done expressively PRIOR to the learner's size selection, as the discussion of the solutions will help determine the size of the problem. Note: If coping skills are an issue, please consider Lisneyland's deck Problem Solving: Staying Calm When Solving all Kinds of Problems. It is recommended that these two decks accompany each other, but it is not necessary. You may also consider Problem Solving Decks 1-4, in which the learner identifies who or what caused a problem, defines the problem when given a scenario, and develops solutions to problems. Have Fun! -Liz
