5 interactive, high interest reading comprehension passages with questions. The engaging passage topics are about odd, amusing and weird things in our world. Questions include WH questions, Text evidence (students have to drag & drop the highlight onto the text), inferencing, main idea & details, tier 2 vocabulary, and writing/discussion prompts with scenarios requiring students to use what they learned within the passage to construct a lengthier open-ended response using details from the text. Total of 68 slides. The 5 passages are: 1. Tree climbing goats of Morocco: Goats in Morocco climb tall trees and attract tourists. 2. Coconut Crabs: Crabs the size of a medium-sized dog climb trees to get coconuts & theoretically ate Amelia Earhart. 3. Grudgy Crows: Research shows that crows remember and can hold grudges if not treated fairly. 4. Not So Hot Potato: Potatoes were thought to cause disease by the French and were banned until……. 5. Roller Coaster Remedy for Kidney Stones: Some roller coasters can help pass kidney stones. Passages are between 5-8 paragraphs in length, and contain from 12-21 questions, which are incorporated throughout the passage, not at the end. The passage is always presented next to the questions for easy reference to avoid having to click back and forth (avoids frustration). Questions are presented in the following interactive formats: Drag & drop, multiple choice, True/False, some sequencing, short answer.
