Description

This is an interesting 31-card scavenger hunt that students can use to learn about or review the Declaration of Independence. While completing this hunt students will learn why the colonies felt they needed to write an official Declaration of Independence even though the Revolutionary War had already started, why Thomas Jefferson was upset with one of the changes Congress made to his draft, when the document was officially signed, and more. To complete the hunt, students read a multiple-choice question. Then they read a short passage that will help them answer the question. Students receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt. This hunt can be used as an Independence Day activity, as a supplement for a study of U. S. history, for reading/history centers, as practice for reading informational text, or as an easy lesson for a sub.
