Description
This 33-card Kuiper Belt scavenger hunt can be used to teach your students about the edge of our solar system. While completing this hunt, students will learn where the Kuiper Belt is located, how far it is from Earth, what kinds of objects are found there, and more. To complete the hunt, students answer 16 multiple-choice questions. First, they read a question and its possible answers. Then they read a passage where the answer is found. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If they choose an incorrect answer, they can revisit the passage to find the correct one. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt. This activity can be used to supplement a study of the solar system, as a reading or science center, to practice reading informational text, or as an easy lesson for a sub.
