Description: PURPOSE: To be able to retell a familiar, FAIRY TALE story. When presented with a story, students may have difficulty retelling a story because they need to be able to break the story down into relevant details. In this activity, students read/listen to a story and will: • Identify the title/main idea. • Identify key facts. • Ask questions. • Answer wh-questions. • Make predictions about the story. • Define vocabulary. • Explain idioms. Finally, the students will create a summary by retelling the story using only five key details.
