Description
This engaging literacy activity gets students actively involved in the building and reading of a story, using the phonics pattern of CVCE: o_e. This four part process engages students in a variety of literacy experiences all around one short passage. Step 1: Learn. There are 3 pre-taught sight words for students to read and hear prior to beginning their work. Step 2: Unscramble the sentences. There are four cards with scrambled sentences. Students will use the picture support to unscramble each sentence. Step 3: Read the complete story, with all 4 sentences that students just unscrambled. Use colorful chips to identify all the o_e words in the passage. Step 4: Answer two multiple-choice comprehension questions about the text.
