Where Questions - Valentines Day Monster (GIFS) | Expanding Utterances with Prepositions

Description
Students are presented with an animated valentine monster (GIFS), an animated valentines day present box, and an animated valentines day envelope. Students are first asked to identify spatial concepts (e.g. on, on top, in front, behind, under, above, below, between, next to) in a field of 2. After, students are asked "where" questions such as "where is the monster" and provided with a sentence starter containing 3 empty spaces to help students expand their utterances as they answer the where questions. For example, students are presented with the sentence starter (the ___ is ___ the ___). Students are given 2 visual choices per blank box to help them drag and drop the correct item into the correct place of the sentence starter. Students are able to form sentences such as "the monster is under the box" or "the monster behind the envelope." This helps students work on spatial concepts as well. Students are asked to follow 1-step directions with the following spatial concepts: - in front - behind - on top - above - below - under - next to - between Some of the following IEP goals can be targeted during this activity: - Wh- questions - Identifying and labeling Basic concepts (e.g. Spatial Concepts) - Expanding Utterances and increasing MLU
