Description: This Hidden Pictures activity is a great "warm-up" for teaching about categories. Before you engage in divergent naming (listing items within a category) or convergent naming tasks (naming categories given a list of items), you can prime the student for the activity with Hidden Picture fun. There are 14 background scenes with 6 hidden pictures in each scene. A total of 84 images represent the following categories: furniture, articles of clothing, fruits, toys, vehicles, school supplies, sports items, musical instruments, farm animals, insects, ocean animals, vegetables, snack foods, and tools.   The student locates then drags the images on each card to the "found" box. You can challenge the student by asking them to predict what items might be in the scenes before they view the screen. Additionally, after the student locates the 6 items in each scene, ask them to name others that may not have been included. Once the 6 items on each card are found and dragged to the box, click the submit button to move to the next card.
