Description

This is a 33-card scavenger hunt that covers the life and accomplishments of Sojourner Truth While completing this hunt, students will learn about Truth's life as a slave, why she changed her name from Isabella Baumfree to Sojourner Truth, why her speeches captivated her audiences, and more. To complete the hunt, students are presented with a question with some possible answers. Then they read a passage where the information can be found. They receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in thee deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt. The hunt can be used for a Black History Month activity, to supplement a study of Black History in America, to teach students about the abolitionists movement, as practice for reading informational text or as an easy lesson for a sub.
