Looking for a fun, St. Patrick's Day themed activity to build phonemic awareness skills? In this deck, students segment words and count the phonemes by dragging a shamrock into an Elkonin box for each sound they hear in a word. How it Works: • Students see a picture, hear a word pronounced, then drag a shamrock into a box for each sound they hear. • If students make a mistake, they are taken to a second card where they see the picture again and hear the word clearly pronounced one phoneme at a time. Then, on the following card, students have another opportunity to count the phonemes. Good to Know: • Audio is provided for everything (words and instructions), making this deck ideal for non-readers. The additional support provided if an error is made ensures students will be successful! • The last card is a lively St. Patrick's Day scene with animated GIFs and music! • The deck contains 33 words (the card count is 100 because of the additional cards students see if they make an error). If a student completes the deck with no errors, they will see 34 cards (including the musical scene at the end). • All words have a St. Patrick's Day theme and contain between 3 and 5 phonemes
