Description
In this activity students will read or listen to math addition story problems in Spanish, that are based on Module 1, Engage NY. Students will use the visual clues to identify the correct 5-group drawing and number sentence that correctly solves each story problem. This activity reinforces the Read-Draw-Write strategy for solving math story problems while reviewing the story problem vocabulary in Spanish: había, más, y, ahora, en total. In addition, it revews the representation of a story problem with 5-group drawings and number sentences. It includes audio for the story problem as an additional scaffold for your beginner students. It is an ideal math activity for Spanish learners in a Dual Language setting, grade 1-2.
