Working on sound deletion of the initial, medial, or final position of words? This is the perfect deck to work on this skill! Instructions for this phonological awareness game: Read the underlined word out loud to your student or have them read the word aloud to you. Let the student think about the sounds in each of the words. Click the sounds under the letters to listen to the sounds in the word. Next, take away the sound indicated in the instructions. The bee icon (as shown below) can be used as visual support to help students "remove" or cover the sound in each word. This support, however, is not required. Blend the remaining sounds together to reveal the hidden word. If students have difficulties doing this alone, use the sound samples to help them blend the remaining sounds together. Enjoy!
