Description: These Valentine's Day-themed Idiom Boom Cards will help to familiarize your students with common idioms. Each card features a short passage containing an idiom that has to do with love, hearts, or other Valentine’s-themed subjects. First students use the DRAW tool to underline the idiom within the passage. Then they use context clues within the passage to select the correct meaning for the idiom. Please note that the DRAW/underline part of the card is not self-checking. You can check the cards to see what they underlined if you want, but it is included mostly to support learning. Also, students do not have to use the DRAW tool to complete the cards. If your situation makes using the DRAW tool challenging, simply instruct your students to only do the multiple-choice part of the card.
