Kindergarteners and first graders will love completing the cute kitten and puppy puzzles while practicing sound blending with their Fry sight words: I, see, the, and, to, a, it, no, up. They get cheers and applause when the puzzle is complete! 4 activities using 2 puzzles are in this deck! In games 1 and 2, students practice sound blending by listening to the sounds in the sight word that are automatically said aloud. Students blend the sounds and then drag the puzzle piece over the correct written word. In games 3 and 4, students listen to the entire sight word, which is automatically said aloud, and then drag the puzzle piece over the answer. Students can listen again by pressing the audio button. They may use the puzzle pictures as additional cues. Since the only words that need to be read are the 9 sight words, students with limited reading skills can do this activity independently. This makes it easy to use for homework, too! The slides play in sequential order to complete the puzzle, with 10 slides for each pet picture activity. Be sure to play the FREE 4-page preview to see how fun this is! This fun deck is aligned with NYC kindergarten words from the first 100 FRY list.
