What is Engineering? This resource gives students an introduction to the engineering design process as well as what engineers do! Begin by introducing the 5 steps of the engineering design process. Next, show a cute video on engineering and what engineers do. Three questions for students to answer follow the video. Next, students are introduced to civil engineers and the types of bridges that engineers create. Finally, using the Sydney Harbor Bridge as a guide, students use over 100 wooden planks to design and create their own bridge!
