Description: Looking for a fun and engaging way for your students to independently practice reading Vowel Consonant E Words? Try out these “Long Vowels: a Consonant e” Boom Cards! In a busy classroom, meaningful independent practice is a must! In this deck, students will have the opportunity to practice reading the word and then choose the picture that matches the word they just read. This deck focuses on long a (spelled vowel consonant e) and words with short a only. When I use Boom Cards in my classroom, I want my students to be able to use them COMPLETELY independently. For this reason I have included a directions card at the beginning complete with audio. I have also included an audio option for each of the picture choices. This will help support students who may struggle with vocabulary as well as eliminate the need for students to come up to you and ask “What is this a picture of?” This deck of Boom Cards would be a great way to review at the beginning of the year, practice reading after learning about magic e words or differentiate for students who may be working to catch up to grade level skills.
