Description: I have plenty of Conversation skills activities but this one deals with perseverating / repeating and can also be considered a social skills speech filter activity. Do you have a student who can't stop talking about a stressful situation or an obsessive thought ? Is their speech redundant or lacking proper Topic maintenance? Maybe you are looking for Feelings activities ? I've had some success just teaching my students what perseverating is. This deck contains 27 conversational scenarios between two people which require your student to decide the topic being discussed and decide if the speaker had perseverated or moved on. . Some basic inferencing skill is required. This deck works best with students within grades 6-10 and typically takes about 40 minutes to complete as a group with discussion in between each card for discussion. Perfect for any social skills curriculum.
