Description: This deck lets students practice spelling two-syllable words with silent E (or Magic E, Sneaky E, whatever you call it). These words follow the VC / CVCe pattern, with a closed syllable in the first syllable and a silent E in the last. Words have been clearly enunciated, even with the few schwa sounds, so that students will be successful! How it works: Kids see a picture and hear a word, then they type the word in the box. This activity is part of my Silent E Syllable Division Bundle, which also includes a syllable division deck and a word-building deck. The three decks are meant to work together, beginning with the Syllable Division deck to teach kids the rules for dividing these words, then progressing to the Word Building deck, which is an easier task than spelling the words unassisted. This deck (Spelling) is the most challenging and should be done last. If you buy all three decks, you receive a significant discount! This bundle is a great complement to your phonics, spelling, word work, Orton-Gillingham or other Structured Literacy curriculum!
