Description: Teach kids to pay attention! Understanding attention is the single most important skill a child can learn, because all learning requires attention. This deck can be used to target a huge range of goals such as answering a variety of questions, inferencing, complex sentences, problem solving, perspective taking, working memory, vocabulary, comparing and contrasting, and more! This deck breaks down what attention is and gives lots of opportunities for learning. Each section has open ended question slides throughout the lessons to check for understanding and to increase engagement. The five sections include: Learn about attention: Teach students what it means to 'pay attention' and how we can only pay attention to one thing at a time. Types of attention: There are two main types of attention, one that we are born with and one we have to practice, examples and explanations for both! Improving attention: This section teaches the lifestyle habits as well as in the moment strategies to help improve attention. This is a great place to discuss what students are already doing and what else they can do. Practice questions: The student is given a scenario and they have to decide where their attention should be in that moment. This section includes moveable flashlight!
