Description: This Algebraic Expressions Word Problems deck targets the following competencies: (1) translating words to algebraic expressions and equations, (2) simplifying algebraic equations, and (3) solving for the value of the variable in the equation. This deck has 10 cards of Number Type word problems - discrete(smaller/bigger), consecutive, and consecutive odd/even - with solutions that use a single variable. In each card, the first or smaller number is represented by the variable N. The student will use the same variable to write the algebraic expression that will represent the second/third or bigger number/s. The student will then formulate the algebraic equation which they will use to solve for the unknown number/s. There are no Digit Number Problems in this deck. Cards will play in increasing difficulty, as follows: Cards 1-5 : discrete (smaller/bigger) number problems, 1 to 2 unknowns Cards 6-10: consecutive numbers and consecutive odd/even numbers, 2 to 3 unknowns This is a fill-in deck. No choices are given. I suggest that you try the first four cards to determine the suitability of this material to your needs.
