Students are presented with both basic concepts Colors and Shapes. Students are asked the WH question "what color is the ____" or "what shape is the ___." Students are provided with a sentence starter (e.g. the (noun) is _____. Students are provided with 2 visual choices (e.g. colors or shapes) to fill in the sentence starter. This helps studnets form longer utterances such as "the apple is red' or 'the book is a square." This helps students receptively and expressively build their knowledge of basic concepts while expanding their utterances! The following IEP goals can be targeted during this activity: - Basic Concepts - Describing (e.g. Attributes/Adjectives, Categories, Function). - Expanding Utterances and Increasing MLU - Identifying common objects
