Description: This is a freebie sample! The full activity is in my boom store. This interactive no-prep activity is an engaging way to help your students build a variety of receptive and expressive language skills with summer nouns. Students are presented with a boy and girl on a beach. Students are given sentences with the core word "want" to follow 1-step directions with object functions. Students are able to identify summer nouns, identify pronouns, identify object functions and follow 1-step directions This activity includes: - A variety of summer items (e.g. seashell, popsicle, flip flops, shovel, beach bag, umbrella, lifeguards chair, hat, starfish, bucket, towel, ball, beach chair, sunglasses, picnic basket, ice cream, sunscreen, sandcastle, bathing suit, shorts, lemonade, water) - A variety of action verbs (e.g. singing, cooking, sleeping, kicking, swinging, eating, swimming, painting, hiding, bouncing, standing up, throwing, playing, coloring, climbing stairs, climbing ladder, drinking, running, jumping rope, dancing, jumping & walking) - Visual Sentence Strips to help students expand their utterances The following IEP goals can be targeted during the activity: - Following 1-step directions - Pronouns (he/she) - Object Functions - Identifying common nouns - WH Questions (e.g. ask students what did the girl/boy want?)
