Description: This is a 33-card Scavenger Hunt that can be used for Memorial Day, Veterans Day, or any U. S. patriotic holiday or history lesson that will teach students about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. In this hunt, students will learn students will learn the history behind the Tomb, the soldiers the Tomb honors, and the guards charged with its protection. To complete the hunt, students are presented with 16 multiple-choice questions. Then they read the information that will help them answer the questions. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If their answer is incorrect, they can reread the text to find the correct answer. They receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned about the tomb. The hunt can be used to enhance a study of reptiles, as practice for reading informational text and is an easy lesson for a sub.
